South Congress Booth

flyer
Are you ready for GladeMade in person? During SxSW I will have a booth on South Congress for one day only.
When? Friday, March 20th from 10 am-5 pm. Note: This handmade market will be the 19th-22nd, but I will only be there on Friday. I don’t want to miss all the awesome music in town!
Where? Gueros parking lot on South Congress in Austin, TX
I would love it if you come by to hang out and see all the stuff. There will be plenty of local Austin Vendors there to support. Also Mark will be there with his new comic, TRANZ!
New Work: Neon Forest
I will post about Staple later in the week, but for now, here is a photo of a new cut-paper little piece I made:

GladeMade for sale in Wimberly, TX
I was minding my own business at work yesterday when I receive an email from a woman named Erica. She saw my shop on Etsy and wants to sell my greeting cards in her new shop in Wimberly, TX. The shop is called Fiamma Bella, and it opens tomorrow.
We end up emailing throughout the day yesterday, and last night I met up with her last night at Halcyon and gave her a whole box of assorted glademade cards for her to sell on consignment at her new shop. How exciting!
I’ve never been to Wimberly, but Erica said about 7,000 people come in town once a month for “market day” which happens to be this Saturday.
If you ever get a chance to go to Wimberly, check it out:

Making Graduation Announcments
Goal Update: My brother’s graduation announcements are complete, and it got me thinking…perhaps others would enjoy/want to purchase handmade graduation announcements. I have done a little research on pricing and have decided on a price.
For those who might be interested: Each design will be based on what you want. I can work with any color cardstock, including the glitter dusted variety, which I made my brother’s invitations. I create all of my designs from cut paper. Graduation announcements can include personal touches like photos, and can be as traditional or as eccentric as you like. I take a quality copy of the design image and stitch it on thick quality cardstock.
$50 initial/design fee
plus
$2.00 per stitched invitation
They are available here.

February 2009 Projects
I have been focusing more on my short-term goals for glademade. Choice pieces of wisdom from Ryan Lauderdale and Jerry Hensel have helped me get focused.
Ryan’s wisdom: Create goals for yourself, they really work. Ryan has been using “the 4-1-1” at work and for his art. The 411 is an easy way to remember to create weekly goals and those 4 weekly goals will add up to your one monthly goal, which will help to attain your 1 yearly goal. Even if you do not complete the goals you set for yourself, they may help you create future and more realistic goals. The trick is to make the weekly goals attainable. When Ryan first told me about this, I wrote down my my weekly goals and they were not attainable (Finish a large piece of art that I started on, and others). I am coming to terms with reality, and my current goal for the week is to have a college graduation announcement designed.
Jerry’s wisdom: If you’re trying to get things done, its good to get all the little things out of the way first, so they don’t bounce around in your head and distract you. If you get those things done right away, it might also benefit your mental health. I have learned similar lessons from my day job. Rule of thumb: When checking emails in the morning, if the email requires action that can be completed in 5 minutes or less do it before going to the next email. If it will take longer than 5 minutes, move the email to a folder labeled “to do today”. Currently I am trying to tie up loose ends.
